Connecting AI assistants
Connect Claude or ChatGPT to your Blond account so your assistant can look up invoices, customers, and projects and get tasks done in Blond for you.
Preview
Connecting AI assistants is currently available as a preview. The menus in Claude and ChatGPT change frequently — the steps below reflect the state as of September 2026.
What the connection can do
Once connected, your assistant works with the same data as Agent Blond in the chat — just directly inside Claude or ChatGPT.
Delegate tasks to Agent Blond: "Create an invoice for Muster AG for 12 hours of consulting", "Log 2 hours on the Website project", or "How is our cashflow looking?". Agent Blond takes over the task in Blond and reports the result back.
Look things up directly: Your assistant can query invoices, quotes, projects, and time entries without going through Agent Blond, for example "Which invoices are overdue?" or "How many hours did I log this week?".
Not possible: Sending documents to customers. Invoices and quotes created by your assistant stay drafts — you still trigger sending in Blond.
Your permissions, your organization's AI credits
The assistant acts with your permissions: it only sees and changes what you're allowed to see and change in Blond yourself. Every request consumes AI credits of your organization — the same as a chat with Agent Blond.
Server URL and instructions
You'll find the instructions and the Blond server URL under User account → AI assistants or directly at https://app.blond.swiss/organization/account/ai-assistants. Click Show instructions on Claude or ChatGPT — you can copy the URL right there.
https://api.blond.swiss/api/mcpEach team member connects their own account. The connection belongs to your user, not to the organization.
Connecting Claude
The steps are identical on the web and in the Claude desktop app.
- Open claude.ai or the Claude app and go to Settings → Customize → Connectors.
- Click Add and choose Add custom connector.
- Enter Blond as the name, paste the Blond server URL as the remote MCP server URL and click Continue.
- Claude opens a Blond window: pick the organization and click Allow.
- In a new chat, click +, choose Add connector and enable Blond.
Paid plan required
Custom connectors require a paid Claude plan (Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise). In Team and Enterprise workspaces an admin may need to allow them first.
Connecting ChatGPT
ChatGPT offers two routes: the regular chat and Codex in the ChatGPT desktop app. The connections are independent of each other — set up the route you actually use.
In the chat
- Open chatgpt.com and go to Settings → Security & login.
- Turn on Developer mode.
- Open Plugins in the sidebar and click Create app. Enter Blond as the name, keep Server URL as the connection, paste the Blond server URL, leave authentication on OAuth, tick the confirmation and click Create.
- ChatGPT opens a Blond window: pick the organization and click Allow.
- In a new chat, click + and pick Blond under plugins.
The app is tied to your ChatGPT account, so it also works in the ChatGPT desktop app and on your phone.
In Codex
- Open the ChatGPT desktop app and go to Settings → Plugins → Add → Add MCP server.
- Enter Blond as the name, choose Streamable HTTP as the type and paste the Blond server URL. Leave the token and header fields empty and click Save.
- Switch to the MCPs tab and click Authenticate next to Blond. A Blond window opens in your browser: pick the organization and click Allow.
- Start a Codex task and simply ask.
Paid plan required
Custom plugins require ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. In Business and Enterprise workspaces an admin may need to allow them first.
Choosing the organization
If you belong to several organizations, you pick the one the assistant should work for in the Blond window during setup. The choice is fixed to that connection. To use a different organization, revoke access and connect again.
Revoking access
Under User account → AI assistants → Connected apps you see every assistant that has access to your account, including the organization and last use. Revoke access disconnects immediately — the assistant can't fetch any data until you connect it again.
Troubleshooting
The assistant doesn't see any Blond tools: The connection is set up but not active in the chat. Click + in the chat and enable Blond as a connector (Claude) or plugin (ChatGPT).
Blond is missing in ChatGPT even though it works in Codex: The chat and Codex use separate connections. For the chat you additionally need developer mode and your own app under Plugins, see In the chat.
The assistant can't access certain data: It has exactly your permissions. Check with your admin which role your user has in the organization.
The assistant replies with a credit error: Your organization's weekly quota is used up, see AI credits.
Developer tools
Using Claude Code, Cursor, or another developer tool? You'll find the API key configuration under User account → API keys.
