Importing data from Bexio
Move contacts, products, quotes, invoices and your accounting over from your existing Bexio account in a single click.
What you need
An active Bexio account you can log in to. Nothing else — the import runs through the official Bexio API.
Note
The import is a one-time copy of your data, not an ongoing sync. After the import, you maintain your data inside Blond; changes you make in Bexio afterwards are not pulled across.
Starting the import
Open the importer at https://app.blond.swiss/importer/bexio or via the help card on your dashboard.
The import runs in three steps: Connect → Pick data → Import.
1. Connect to Bexio
Click Connect with Bexio and sign in to your Bexio account. Bexio asks whether Blond may access your data — confirm, and you're sent back to Blond.
Privacy
Your Bexio credentials are not stored. Blond only receives a temporary access token, which is automatically deleted after 24 hours.
2. Pick the data
Choose which Bexio modules you want to bring across:
| Module | What gets imported | Required |
|---|---|---|
| Master data | Contacts, products, bank accounts, projects | yes |
| Sales | Quotes, invoices | no |
| Purchases | Expenses, supplier invoices | no |
| Accounting | Chart of accounts, fiscal years, manual journal entries | no |
Master data is always included — without it, quotes, invoices and expenses can't be linked to the right contacts and products.
Importing your accounting
If you select Accounting, Blond takes over your chart of accounts and fiscal years from Bexio and imports your manual journal entries.
Accounting start date: Manual journal entries are imported and your imported invoices and supplier invoices are booked automatically from this date onwards. Fiscal years ending before the start date are not imported. By default, the beginning of the current year is pre-filled.
WARNING
The accounting import overwrites your existing accounting configuration in Blond (chart of accounts and fiscal years). It's meant for new organizations switching over from Bexio — not for organizations that already do their accounting in Blond.
Click Start import once you've made your selection.
3. Import in progress
Blond processes the data in the background. The progress bar shows where you're at — you can keep the page open or work on something else and come back later.
Depending on how much data you have, the import takes anywhere from a few seconds to several minutes.
WARNING
Don't close the browser tab while the import is running if you want to follow the progress. The import itself keeps running on the server and finishes either way — only the live progress display goes away.
Re-imports and duplicates
You can safely run the import multiple times. Blond recognizes records that were already imported by their Bexio ID and updates them instead of creating duplicates. This is useful when:
- you only imported part of your data the first time and want to add more modules later,
- you made last-minute changes in Bexio before switching and want to pull them across.
When something goes wrong
If a single record fails to import, the rest still goes through — the import doesn't abort on a single error. At the end you'll see a warning with the error message.
In that case, contact support@blond.swiss with a screenshot of the message and we'll help bring the missing record across manually.
