Restoring deleted documents

Find deleted invoices, quotes, expenses and projects and restore them with a single click.

When you delete a document, it only disappears from the list. Blond keeps it until you restore it — there's no automatic deletion period.

Show deleted entries

  1. Open the list, e.g. Invoices, Quotes, Expenses or Projects.
  2. Click the filter icon (Filter) next to the search field.
  3. Turn on Only trashed and click Show.

The list now shows deleted entries only — greyed out, with an arrow icon at the end of each row.

TIP

Can't find the document? The other filters, such as status or period, also apply to deleted entries. Reset them or search for the document number directly.

Restore an entry

Click the Restore arrow at the end of the row. The entry is back in the regular list right away.

Afterwards, clear the filter via Filter → Reset. Blond remembers the filters of each list — otherwise you'll keep seeing only deleted entries next time.

Note

You only see the arrow if your role is allowed to delete entries in that area. Learn more under Manage your team.

What happens when you restore

Deleting and restoring affect numbers, accounting and payments:

AffectsOn deleteOn restore
Document numberstays reserved, isn't reassigneddocument keeps its original number
Bookings (invoices, expenses)are removed from accountingare recreated automatically
Recorded paymentsare deletedare not restored — the document is open again
Bank reconciliationlink to the bank transaction is removedBlond looks for matching open bank transactions again

If a restored expense or invoice was already paid, check the bank reconciliation or record the payment again.

Closed financial year

You can't delete or restore documents from a closed financial year.

Delete permanently

DANGER

If you select entries in the Only trashed view and delete them again, Blond removes them permanently. This can't be undone.
